Hello!

Welcome to my blog! I hope this will become a great tool for communication and learning; please feel free to share it with whomever.

As many of you may know, I have recently embarked on a new educational journey, stemming from a deep sense that now is the time to learn through experience and nature. This fall has served as a wonderful transition phase, where I have experimented and thought a lot about how exactly my hopes for my own education may be manifested.

As the snow blows thickly across our roads and fields, my thoughts turn to spring. In this blog, I would like to share with you my adventures and accumulated knowledge, beginning with a trip I am planning for January and February 2009.

I will be leaving for Burkina Faso, West Africa, on January 12th, returning about a month later in February, just in time for that month's permaculture class at Camp Epworth in High Falls, New York. In Burkina Faso, I will be interning with the head doctor of the hospital in the town Sapone, hopefully helping in whatever I can, but specifically in the labor and delivery area. I have been blessed with a very kind host and a nice place to stay not far from where I will work.

Ideally, I will be able to post pictures and updates at least weekly while I am gone, and I would love to receive your thoughts and comments. You may also email me with more personal questions or comments at braun.natalie@gmail.com.
